The BriteHeart Story

Our democracy depends on citizens who are connected in community and empowered to make a difference. By engaging in positive, respectful civic activity and conversations, we make the country stronger. 

BriteHeart was founded in 2017 on this principle. We use the arts to create opportunities for people to exercise their civic power in unique and creative ways. By creating strong connections and meaningful engagement, we empower citizens to build on the better angels of our national history and take the future in their hands. 

With the lessons of our past as a catalyst, we hope to make the promise of a better America a reality, one community at a time. BriteHeart created or collaborated on 30+ events in Nashville with more than 20K attendees and countless more reached online and through media coverage in the Tennessean, Nashville Scene, Vice News, and Rolling Stone.

In 2019-2020 the Company launched its signature programs VotingIsVital, Fireside at the Fairlane and Harmony on the Horizon conducting them all virtually.  These core programs reflect our emphasis on civic participation, education and discussion.connecting with more than 20K individual people.

Our ground-breaking Early Voting Concert Series set the standard for giving world-class musicians and songwriters a unique platform. We were responsible for over 12,000 phone-banking calls during the fall election season to get folks out to vote and we hosted guests such as David Plazas, Dr. Sekou Franklin and Shanna Hughey to discussions with our members of the most pressing issues facing our democracy.

2023-2025 will continue to delight with a film project, more events, and a summit.
