BriteHeart and This Is Noteworthy Present a Free Screening of the Documentary "Citizens Revival"

BriteHeart and This Is Noteworthy will present a special, free preview screening of the documentary Citizens Revival on Jan. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Terrace Theater.

Citizens Revival is an educational, awareness-focused documentary filmed in seven communities across the United States, including Charleston, between March and November 2024. The film highlights how ordinary people from diverse backgrounds are engaging in their communities and participating in democracy, with a strong emphasis on education, youth voices, and civic involvement.

Rather than projecting opinions or creating division, the film witnesses real people taking action in real time. It shows how hope can triumph over fear and how participation strengthens communities. Designed to be accessible for all ages and levels of understanding, Citizens Revival encourages intergenerational dialogue and meaningful conversation, making it especially relevant for students, educators, families, and organizations that serve diverse populations.

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with several of the film’s creators and participants. The discussion will be moderated by Philicia Baugh.

“This film reminds us that democracy lives in community spaces and everyday actions,” said Baugh. “It’s an invitation for people of all backgrounds to reflect, connect, and consider how they can be more engaged.”

The event is free to attend, but seating is limited and advance registration is required.
